Lab

The Urban Action Innovation Lab, an initiative at Makerere University in partnership with UN-Habitat, is dedicated to addressing the complex challenges of urban development. By integrating expertise from geography, geo-informatics, climatic sciences, and beyond, the Lab drives transformative urban solutions that contribute to sustainable urbanization, the New Urban Agenda (NUA), and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As a collaborative hub, we unite researchers, policymakers, community leaders, and industry experts to tackle pressing urban issues, from sustainable planning and global environmental change to socio-economic equity and spatial analytics.
